Technology is transforming the real estate luxury segment of India
September 27, 2019
Accurate weather by the hour on your mobile, traffic updates on the go, a new-gen smart TV – if you think technology is simplifying life, this is the only the tip of the iceberg. The convergence of technology and humans is rapidly channelling us into the fifth industrial or digital revolution: and real estate, specially the luxury segment, is demanding new ways to maximise it.
HNIs are leading highly tech-enabled lifestyles from bathrooms to balconies. They are well-travelled, globally-exposed professionals who are familiar with living standards of the world, and demand the same in India. They are ushering in a change, where the luxury real estate is fast becoming a meeting ground for AI (Artificial Intelligence), IoT (Internet of Things) and M2M (Machine to Machine) learning.
Imagine state-of-the-art HVAC amenities to warm up or cool down your home even before you’re back. Think high tech but user-friendly concepts enabling smart security in your home, when you’re not there. Social status is now all about the comfort of doing a lot with a few finger taps. All it takes now is an iPad - think remotely controlled window shades, ambient room temperatures, toaster timers all enabled by a voice command and a mobile app. No future-ready home will be complete without these advanced innovations anymore.
Engineering innovation will need to soon kick in even as a project is conceptualised. Disruptive ideas such as smart lighting systems and automatic Wi-Fi will need to be factored into blueprints of homes at the ideation stage, leading up to construction.
Suffice it to say that the luxury real estate sector in India is in the green rooms – preparing itself for a major transformation, demanded by its most discerning customer, and implemented by a huge digital wave.
